I wished to test Druid and was trying to install it by following instructions given on this page https://druid.apache.org/docs/latest/tutorials/index.html.
As it is mentioned that Zookeeper is needed and “contents of Zookeeper tar ball should be located at folder zk under Druid package root”. What is “package root” here? This is not a directory name but I am unable to get which location is it talking about.
After you extract the druid installation you cd to that directory resulting after the extraction. That is the root directory
tar -xzf apache-druid-0.15.0-incubating-bin.tar.gz
so zookeeper should be in a folder named zk under the directory apache-druid-0.15.0-incubating.
Before running the following commands, ensure that you are in apache-druid-0.15.0-incubating:
curl https://archive.apache.org/dist/zookeeper/zookeeper-3.4.11/zookeeper-3.4.11.tar.gz -o zookeeper-3.4.11.tar.gz
tar -xzf zookeeper-3.4.11.tar.gz
mv zookeeper-3.4.11 zk
Thanks Prathamesh for quick response. Druid is running now but unable to run SQL query on the data source(wikipedia data) I loaded. When I try to run a query it says “Object ‘wikipedia’ not available”.
When I run druid through Imply package, same query is working fine.
Do you have any insight regarding this?
How are you running the query? Can you share the payload and the URL you are hitting?
I restarted the server and its working now. I don’t know why it was not working earlier. Thanks for the help
