Deleting segments

Hi,

we use druid (indexing service to load data):

  1. I’m deleting just some old segments (e.g. older

than 1 day) from a datasource.

Is it enought to disable the data source

( /druid/coordinator/v1/datasources/… )

Or do I have to stop the data load ?:

/druid/indexer/v1/supervisor//shutdown

  1. What will happen if I delete whole dataSource

but will keep running loading job (will it recreate

the dataSource)?

Tx.

Vlad

To delete old segments you don’t have to stop ingestion.

``

You have to disable the datasource/interval via /druid/coordinator/v1/datasources/{dataSourceName}/intervals/{interval}

Then you can send the kill task /druid/coordinator/v1/datasources/{dataSourceName}/segments/{segmentId}

`Here is the doc page: http://druid.io/docs/latest/design/coordinator.html#delete

Additionally, I think the following documentation may provide more answers to the problems you are having in a production-like setting long term:

http://druid.io/docs/0.9.1.1/operations/rule-configuration.html

Thanks. That’s it.
