Does the length of dimensions/metrics name matters?

Hi,
As I know, in some key-value or NoSQL DBs, the key also cause space cost. How about in Druid?

for example, as a demension name, “advertiser_id” vs “adv” which should we prefer?

Weiwen

Hi Weiwen, the length of a column name won’t noticeably affect cost or performance in Druid, since it’s only stored once per segment (a few million rows) and not in each row.

That’s great!
Thank you Gian Merlino!

Gian,
Is there a maximum length for a dimension value? I am seeing it is truncated to 128 characters. Can you please confirm?

Thanks,
Ram

i don’t think so, can you please provide an example ?
