druid cluster node port

hi great team:)

I see each node type’s runtime.properties has a comment :

Default host: localhost. Default port: 8082. If you run each node type on its own node in production, you should override these values to be IP:8080

Is it nessesary the port should be set to 8080 ? Say, I start a broker node and a coordinator on one server, the broker node is set on 8080 and the coordinator node is set on 8081.Is this ok?

Thanks in advance!

Hi andy,
its perfectly fine to run druid services on ports other than 8080.

the only restriction is that you cannot run two nodes on same machine with same port.

I actually wrote up some thoughts about colocating processes in a recent doc update:

Many thanks to Nishant and Fangjin
