Druid High Availablity Urls

I have configured for high availability with at least 2 of every node type as recommended here: http://druid.io/docs/latest/configuration/production-cluster.html

If I want High Availability for services that access Druid over HTTP, do I just put a Load Balancer across each node group? Is there anything special that I need to be aware of?

Hey Mark,

Pretty much any load balancer works well for the broker because all instances are active and queryable. For the overlords, only one is active at a time, and the standby overlords redirect to the main one (rather than proxying). So a load balancer will work only if it follows redirects (or, if it doesn’t, user agents need to be able to follow them and hit the overlords directly).
