Druid TopN queries performance Benchmarking and metrics from individual nodes

I have an existing druid database V2 and i want to benchmark the query performance of top N queries against it. Also i want to get metrics back from individual nodes for every query. Can someone guide me through how to benchmark it?

Hi Naveen,

The best way to get metrics from individual nodes is through the emitters: http://druid.io/docs/latest/operations/metrics.html. Basically, you point them at an HTTP endpoint, Kafka topic, etc. Or you can just send the metrics to log files. All metrics are tagged with query IDs, so you can trace them back to the query you issued (check the X-Druid-Query-Id header on the response).

Hey Gian,

How do i get the metrics over http endpoints ? Can you provide me reference to get the metrics through http endpoints.

You need to set druid.emitter to http and add other configs for HTTP emitters.

See http://druid.io/docs/latest/configuration/index.html#emitting-metrics for reference.
