AWS provides instances with cpu-ram-ssd balance fixed, favoring storage (local ssd) for i-series, favoring cpu-ram (r3 series) or others.

If we find that our druid workloads need another balance of cpu-ram-ssd for our use cases or performance / cost reqs, attaching EBS seems a good idea.

Do you have any idea of performance local SSD vs generic EBS SSD vs provisioned EBS SSD?

Does Druid has any recommandations on this? (for the users who prefer to keep less data in RAM for cost reasons).

Pls advise,

Hey Nicolae,

I only have personal experience with local instance store SSDs for Druid. Those do generally work well. I’m not sure how EBS compares.
