Gets stuck in waiting to hand off

I have two problems

  1. I followed this tutorial http://druid.io/docs/0.8.3/tutorials/tutorial-a-first-look-at-druid.html

and keep getting this error

2016-03-31T06:18:28,339 ERROR [coordinator_handoff_scheduled_0] io.druid.curator.discovery.ServerDiscoverySelector - No server instance found

2016-03-31T06:18:28,339 ERROR [coordinator_handoff_scheduled_0] io.druid.segment.realtime.plumber.CoordinatorBasedSegmentHandoffNotifier - Exception while checking handoff for dataSource[wikipedia] Segment[SegmentDescriptor{interval=2016-03-31T02:00:00.000Z/2016-03-31T03:00:00.000Z, version=ā€˜2016-03-31T02:00:00.000Zā€™, partitionNumber=0}], Will try again after [60000]secs

I found a google group thread which asks to add to common.runtime.properties, which is already in the config, so not sure how to get rid of this.

Getting frustrated with this i tried the second tutorial

and the other problem.

  1. If i follow this tutorial http://druid.io/docs/0.8.3/tutorials/tutorial-the-druid-cluster.html

Things seem to go fine except when i run the last command I keep getting stuck at here

io.druid.segment.realtime.plumber.CoordinatorBasedSegmentHandoffNotifier - Still waiting for Handoff for Segments : [[SegmentDescriptor{interval=2016-03-31T02:00:00.000Z/2016-03-31T03:00:00.000Z, version=ā€˜2016-03-31T02:00:00.000Zā€™, partitionNumber=0}]]

the command i ran is

java -Xmx512m -Duser.timezone=UTC -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -Ddruid.realtime.specFile=examples/wikipedia/wikipedia_realtime.spec -classpath config/_common:config/realtime:lib/* io.druid.cli.Main server realtime

Please let me know if anybody can help.

Thanks

Hi Rifat, to make your life much easier, you should try http://imply.io/docs/latest/quickstart

The problem you are having is because you are missing druid.selectors.coordinator.serviceName=<> in your common configs.

Hi Rifat,

Did you solved the below issue?

Please let us know how you solved the issue?

I also facing similar issue.

Thanks,
