Implementing filters

  1. There is documentation on filters available but i am not clear where i can use them. I used the plywood filter expression but receive a error “must be implemented”. Any leads will be helpful
  2. Also, this link talks about extraction functions - http://druid.io/docs/latest/querying/filters.html#filtering-with-extraction-functions. Where does the json spec should go, i dont see any options in imply UI which accepts this

Hi Harshit,

I would be happy to jump on a call with you and work through both questions below. Filters can be applied in the specification file, Imply UI and query API. You use the specification file when you load a data source. If you select +load data and Other (batch) you will be prompted for a specification file. Let me know if a call makes sense.

Thanks Eric for the response. I was thinking to apply filters in the cube and not during the data ingestion. There will be scenarios where team wants to apply filter in the cube and not in data ingestion. If there any provision for that?

Hi Harshit,

Once you have a dataset loaded you can do this right in the Imply UI. You can select the dimension value from the list, use regex etc.

https://docs.imply.io/on-prem/visualize/data-cubes#filters

Filters can also be applied at the dimension or measure level using Plywood.

Best regards,

Eric
