I apologize in advance for the vague query, but I am trying to better understand the usage for post-aggregations. It wasn’t clear to me from the current documentation which use cases this feature would satisfy.

Thank you in advance for your time.

In general: Aggregators are applied directly to the raw data. Post Aggregators are applied to Aggregators.

So something like “Sum of values” and “sum of quantities” would be aggregators, and a post aggregator might be “sum of values / sum of quantities” to get the mean.

Another way to think of it is that Aggregators do something with the data, and PostAggregators make the results more meaningful.

From a more technical perspective, post aggregators can be applied lazily (only calculated when needed) but aggregators are calculated all the time.

Thanks for quick reply! That helps to clear things up.

Thanks again!
