Right now my company runs Druid 0.11.0. We are looking to upgrade to a version TBD soon (0.13.0+). My question is if it is required to make a stop in each successive version (0.11.0 --> 0.12.3 --> 0.13.0 --> 0.14.x) or if one can simply go from druid 0.11.0 to druid 0.14.x in a rolling fashion? I found the rolling updates page in docs which helps with knowing order of service upgrades, but doesn’t speak to version jumps (http://druid.io/docs/latest/operations/rolling-updates.html)
yes you should be able to upgrade directly.
Just that you can’t rollback in this case.
Thanks & Rgds
As Venkat mentioned, should be fine to go directly. Would just like to add there are release notes that should give ideas of what to expect, suggest to read over if you haven’t already
Also, if using custom extensions you rely on, you may want to investigate if there is an updated one in the target release you are upgrading to. You might have a nice surprise where you may no longer need a specific custom extension
