Questions regarding batch data ingestion

Hi,
I am following batch data ingestion tutorial using csv file with my custom input fields. My data don’t have timestamp field, so do i have to generate timestamps for data or it could be avoided. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It is possible to generate timestamps with later versions of Druid (the code in master supports this). If you put a “missingValue” field in your timestampSpec with a default timestamp, it will be added to your data.
