RuntimeException aborted realtime processing ... Unable to parse metrics[me_start], value[None]

Good day,

We are trying to consume from Kafka 0.8 and the realtime ingestion is stopping when a value of None is sent to any field:

Jun  2 16:47:41 ip-10-147-138-174 druid-realtime: 2016-06-02T16:47:41,087 ERROR [chief-PublisherTrackingTime[0]] io.druid.segment.realtime.RealtimeManager - RuntimeException aborted realtime processing[PublisherTrackingTime]: {class=io.druid.segment.realtime.RealtimeManager, exceptionType=class com.metamx.common.parsers.ParseException, exceptionMessage=Unable to parse metrics[me_start], value[None]}

Is there a way to "ignore" or "skip" those messages and continue the ingestion?

We have tried setting "reportParseExceptions" explicity to false and true without success:

“tuningConfig”: {
“type” : “realtime”,
“maxRowsInMemory”: 500000,
“intermediatePersistPeriod”: “PT40m”,
“windowPeriod”: “PT40m”,
“basePersistDirectory”: “/tmp/realtime/basePersist”,
“reportParseExceptions”: false,
“rejectionPolicy”: {
“type”: “messageTime”
}
}

We are using Druid 0.8.2.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Gerardo Santoveña

Hi,
This has already been fixed in 0.9.0 by https://github.com/druid-io/druid/pull/2519

Could you try with latest druid stable ?

Thank you very much. We are using 0.8.2 and testing the upgrade to 0.9.
