Unable to use extension emitters

I am trying to use either statsd or kafka. I load the extension

INFO [main] io.druid.initialization.Initialization - Loading extension [kafka-emitter] for class [interface io.druid.initialization.DruidModule]

but if I specify “druid.emitter=kafka” I get a noop emitter instead (same is true for statsd).

I tried composing, but again, the emitters are silently ignored and I end up with an empty array:

INFO [main] io.druid.server.emitter.ComposingEmitterModule - Creating Composing Emitter with

even though: “druid.emitter.composing.emitter=[“kafka”]”

I am running out of ideas here. The build-in ones just work fine.

Thanks,

Hagen

Hi Hagen :

Which documentation did you follow to configure emitter to be Kafka ? From the community doc : http://druid.io/docs/latest/configuration/index.html , it seems only supporting “logging” and “http”… Which version is your Druid ?

Thanks

Hi ,

Use below steps to setup Kafka-Emitter.If you are using druid 0.11 has issue with it.

Step: 1
Add Extension in : druid.extensions.loadList=[“kafka-emitter”]
Step: 2
Create Folder name as " kafka-emitter" in druid extension directory and upload Jar
Below Properties need to set :
druid.emitter=kafka
druid.emitter.logging.logLevel=info
druid.request.logging.feed=druid_requests
druid.emitter.kafka.bootstrap.servers=ip:port,ip:port,ip:port
druid.emitter.kafka.metric.topic=metric topic_name
druid.emitter.kafka.alert.topic=alert topic name
druid.emitter.kafka.producer.config={"max.block.ms

":10000}
And use below pom file to build kafka-emitter jar using mavaen
