Using deep storage(relative path for hadood) in configuration - need to confirm is it allowed or not

We are using DRUID with hadoop as the deep storage. (version -0.6.160)

For Druid configurations, absolute path is configured. As we are going through migration process to a new environment, we ran in to issues as DRUID_segments in the DRUID mysql is having these absolute paths in the blob data. With out changing this, we could not retrieve the segments.

When I tried relative path in the historical for storage, it is working. but I heard DRUID DONOT recommend using relative path for this. Has anyone has any experience on this? Please share the details if there are any hard set rules for using absolute path which I believe is not a good idea and also why is that this way.

Thanks in advance for your expert advice.
