where does indexing service store real time data

hi,
I have few questions regarding the indexing service (for real time data) in the architecture - http://druid.io/docs/latest/design/design.html

i am trying to ingest real time data using tranquility. i have segment granularity of one hour

  1. where does the indexing service store data during the ingestion. (I do not have any real time node set up. just using the indexing service)

  2. does it store in deep storage or does it store in any cache or where else?

  3. how does the broker get real time ingested data from indexing service?

please suggest

thanks

VR

Hi

Thanks Slim.
How do i find where exactly it stores the real time data/segments in disk before handing it off to historical/deep storage. where can i find the local path where it stores usually?

i looked at some directories in my middlemanager and overlord nodes, but i see some empty folders.

here are some configuration properties I see this in my middleManager

Task launch parameters

druid.indexer.task.baseTaskDir=var/druid/task

druid.processing.buffer.sizeBytes=888870912

Hadoop indexing

druid.indexer.task.hadoopWorkingPath=/tmp/druid-indexing

-Djava.io.tmpdir=var/tmp

ls -ltr /var/

for overlord configuration properties

druid.indexer.runner.type=remote

druid.indexer.storage.type=metadata

Hi VR, inline.

Thanks Slim.

druid.indexer.task.baseTaskDir sets this path in your overlord/middle manager configs.
